Agniveervayu enrolled under this entry may be assigned any duty at the discretion of the Indian Air Force. They will undergo military training based on IAF requirements. After four years of service, based on the organisation’s needs and policies, Agniveervayu can apply for enrolment in the regular cadre as Airmen. Applications will be centrally considered based on objective criteria, including performance during the four-year period. Up to 25% of each specific batch will be enrolled in the regular cadre of the IAF.

Educational Qualifications
(a) Science Subjects
Candidates should meet one of the following criteria:
- Passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with:
- Minimum 50% marks in aggregate
- Minimum 50% marks in English
- Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from Central, State, and UT recognized Polytechnic institute with:
- 50% marks in aggregate
- 50% marks in English in the Diploma Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Diploma Course)
- Passed Two years Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects viz. Physics and Mathematics from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with:
- 50% marks in aggregate
- 50% marks in English in the Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course)
(b) Other than Science Subjects
Candidates should meet one of the following criteria:
- Passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent Examination in any stream/ subjects from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with:

Exam Pattern
The written examination will be conducted at the selected centers on the date and time fixed by the IAF which will be communicated to all candidates through online admit cards. Online test will be objective type and questions will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper and shall consist of the following subjects:

- (a) Science Subjects: The total duration of the online test shall be 60 minutes and will comprise Physics, Mathematics, and English as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus.
- (b) Other than Science Subjects: The total duration of the online test shall be 45 minutes and will comprise English as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus, and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
- (c) Science Subjects & Other than Science Subjects: The total duration of the online test shall be 85 minutes and will comprise Physics, Mathematics, English as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus, and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
Note:-
- Marking pattern for online test:
- One mark for every correct answer.
- Nil (0) marks for unattempted questions.
- 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Candidates’ scores in STAR Phase-I Testing will be adjusted (“Normalised”) to account for differences in question paper difficulty across sessions. Cut-offs for STAR Phase-II testing and the Final Merit List will be based on these “Normalised Marks” rather than the actual scores obtained in Phase-I.
- Candidates are to qualify in each paper individually in Science Subjects and Other than Science Subjects, with normalised marks. The result of Phase-I and shortlisting for Phase-II will be based on their performance in the Phase-I online test.
Selection Process
The examination will consist of Online Examination, Document Verification, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Adaptability Test, and Medical Examination. All these stages of the examination are mandatory. The examination will be conducted in three phases as follows:

First Phase:-
Eligible candidates will receive their admit cards for the Online Test via email 48-72 hours before the exam. They need to download and bring a color printout of the admit card to the exam center. The city name and exam date will be notified beforehand for travel planning. Admit cards can also be downloaded from the candidate’s login on the CASB web portal. Second Phase:-
Following the announcement of Phase-I (Online) Test results, candidates who meet the cut-off based on normalised marks will receive a new Admit Card via email for Phase-II. Phase-II includes Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and Adaptability Test, Document Verification, . This Admit Card can also be downloaded from the candidate’s login on the CASB web portal.
a) Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
Names of the shortlisted candidates who qualify the online test will be displayed on the CASB Web Portal. On a specified date, these candidates will be called to designated ASCs for Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Adaptability Test-II. PFT includes two parts: PFT-I and PFT-II.
PFT-I:-
Candidates have to complete 1.6 Kms run as per the following timings to qualify for PFT-II.

(b) Adaptability Test:
All candidates who pass Physical Fitness Test will have to undertake Adaptability Test-II as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test-II is for selection of candidates who can adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.
c) Documentation Verification:
During documentation verification, the Board will check the candidate’s original documents. Candidates who fail to produce the required documents will be disqualified. Candidates have to report on the stipulated date and time for Phase-II at the designated ASC along with following:
- Admit Card and Application
- Color printout of Phase-II Admit Card.
- Color printout of the duly filled application form downloaded after online registration.
- Stationery
- HB pencil, eraser, sharpener, glue stick, stapler, and black/blue ballpoint pen for writing.

- Candidates with additional skills/ qualifications/ achievements in fields such as IT, motor vehicle driving/ maintenance, hospitality, logistics, accounting, catering, welding, typing, sports, etc., should upload supporting certificates/ documents through a link provided with the Phase-II call letter and bring them to Phase-II testing.
Third Phase:-
Medical Examination:
- Candidates who qualify Adaptability Test-II will receive a medical appointment letter at their respective ASCs.
- Medical examination will be conducted by an Air Force Medical Team according to IAF medical standards and policy.
- The Recruitment Medical Officer and specialist doctors of the Armed Forces are the final authorities on declaring a candidate fit or unfit during the initial medical examination, appeal medical board, and medical examination prior to enrollment.
- Armed Forces standards may differ from civil standards, and there is no provision for representation or review after the appeal medical board.
- Passing the medical examination does not guarantee employment in the Indian Air Force.
