Selection Process
The examination will consist of Written Examination, Document Verification, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Interview, and Medical Examination. All these stages of the examination are mandatory. The examination will be conducted in three phases as follows:

First Phase:-
The written examination will be conducted at the selected Examination Centre, with the date, time, and venue fixed by BSF. Admit cards will be available online for download. Ensure you download and print your admit card before the exam date. The question papers will be printed in only English. There will be two composite papers. The first paper will be Objective Type with multiple-choice questions on an OMR-based answer sheet, while the second paper will be Subjective and Conventional Type. Second Phase:-
- Successful candidates from the 1st phase Written Examination will appear before the selection board for the Second Phase Examination.
- This includes Documentation, Physical Standards Test, Physical Efficiency Test.
- Candidates will be informed about the selection through E-Mail address/SMS or call letters.
- Any candidate not qualifying in any of the events of the second phase examination will be eliminated from the process of recruitment.
a) Documentation:
- Original testimonials/certificates of the candidate will be checked to confirm eligibility.
- The department will communicate the eligibility status to candidates through E-Mail.
- If a candidate does not produce original documents during documentation, they will be disqualified.
b) Physical Standards Test (PST):
Candidates qualified in the Documentation will be put through the Physical Standards Test (PST). The PST will be carried out by the selection board to assess the Height, Chest, and Weight of the candidates according to the Physical Standards as follows:

c) Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
Those candidates found fit in the Physical Standards Test (PST) will be put through the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which will be qualifying in nature. PET norms are as follows:
Third Phase:-
Candidates will appear before the selection board for the 3rd phase of the examination, i.e., Interview and Medical Examination and Review Medical Examination. The location will be centrally situated in Delhi or nearby states. Candidates will be notified of the date through email/SMS for call letters/admit cards online.
a) Interview:
- Candidates declared qualified in Documentation, PST, and PET will be eligible for a personal interview before the selection board.
- The interview will carry 50 marks.
- Qualifying marks for the interview for General (UR) category candidates (02 vacancies notified for UR category only) is 50%.
b) Medical Examination:
- Candidates who qualify in all the above stages of the examination (Written Examination, Documentation, PST, PET, and Interview) will undergo a detailed medical examination.
- The medical examination will be conducted by a medical board to assess their fitness.
- If a candidate is declared medically unfit during the detailed medical examination, they will be allowed to undergo a Review Medical Examination (RME) provided they give written consent by signing the intimation indicating reasons for being unfit, as per Annexure-B.
- The RME will be conducted in continuation of the Detailed Medical Examination, preferably on the next day of DME.
- The consent for the Review Medical Examination, as per Annexure-B, duly signed by the candidate, should be submitted within 24 hours after being informed of unfitness in the DME.
- The RME is conducted to rule out the possibility of an error of judgment in the decision of the Detailed Medical Examination board.
- The decision of the Review Medical board will be final.
- No appeal/representation against the decision of the Review Medical board will be entertained.
