Roles and Responsibilities of Various Paramedical Posts:

  1. Dietician (Level 7): Plans and implements dietary programs to promote healthy eating habits and manage various health conditions. Works with patients to develop meal plans, offers nutritional counseling, and monitors the effectiveness of dietary interventions.
  2. Nursing Superintendent: Oversees nursing staff and ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care. Manages nursing operations, coordinates with other healthcare professionals, and ensures compliance with medical protocols and hospital policies.
  3. Audiologist & Speech Therapist: Diagnoses and treats hearing and balance disorders (Audiologist) and assesses and treats speech, language, and communication issues (Speech Therapist). Works together to help patients with hearing impairments and speech-related challenges.
  4. Clinical Psychologist: Assesses, diagnoses, and treats mental health disorders. Provides therapy, counseling, and psychological testing to help individuals manage emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues.

Refund of Examination Fee (for those attending CBT):

For candidates attending the CBT, the refund of the examination fee requires accurate submission of bank details in the application form. Candidates must provide their bank name, account holder’s name, account number, and IFSC code to receive the refundable portion of the fee (₹400/- or ₹250/- as applicable, minus bank charges). It is crucial that these details are correct, as the RRB will not address any issues related to incorrect information. Additionally, refunds will not be issued for applications that are erroneous, incomplete, or rejected.

Exam Pattern

The RRB Paramedical examination consists of a single stage of CBT. The exam is offered in Hindi, English, and 13 Regional Indian languages and includes objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs). For each incorrect answer, 1/3rd of the allotted marks will be deducted as part of the negative marking scheme. The detailed structure of the online examination is provided below:

Selection Process

Here’s an overview of how the process is designed to assess and select the most suitable candidates for various paramedical positions:

Computer-Based Test (CBT):

  • Candidates must pass the CBT, which evaluates knowledge in General Science, General Knowledge, and Professional Knowledge relevant to their post.
  • Minimum qualifying marks are:
    • 40% for UR/EWS candidates
    • 30% for OBC & SC candidates
    • 25% for ST candidates
  • PwBD candidates will receive a 2-mark relaxation if required.

Shortlisting and Document Verification:

  • Based on CBT scores, candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for Document Verification.
  • There will be no standby list.
  • During document verification, candidates must present their original certificates. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of their candidature.

Empanelment and Medical Examination:

  • Candidates will be empanelled based on CBT scores and successful document verification.
  • Candidates must also pass a medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration.
  • Final verification of educational and community certificates, as well as antecedents/character checks, will be conducted.

Appointment Process:

  • RRBs recommend the names of successful candidates to the Zonal Railways/Production Units, which handle the appointment process.
  • The Principal Chief Personnel Officer of the Railway/Production Unit will finalize appointments.

Merit Determination:

  • In case of tie scores, older candidates will be given preference.
  • Appointment offers will be issued by the respective Railway Administrations based on the final selection criteria.
