The application fee must be paid online only through internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI. All applicable service charges for the chosen online payment method will be borne by the candidate. Exam Pattern
The recruitment process shall involve 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable) and Document Verification/Medical Examination.
1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT):
This initial stage is common for all posts under CEN 05/2024 and includes questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The test consists of:

- Normalization: The normalized score of the 1st Stage CBT will be used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT based on merit.
- Reservation Benefits: Candidates availing reservation benefits (OBC(NCL)/ SC/ST/EWS, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen) will be considered only within their respective categories for all subsequent stages of the recruitment process.
2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT):
Candidates who qualify the 1st Stage CBT will be shortlisted for the 2nd Stage CBT based on their normalized scores. The number of candidates selected will be up to 15 times the number of community-wise vacancies for each post, depending on their merit. The Railways reserve the right to adjust this number as needed to ensure a sufficient pool of candidates for all available positions. Selection Process
- 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT): This initial stage is a common test for all posts and evaluates candidates on General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The results from this test are used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT.

- Typing Skill Test (TST): For posts such as Senior Clerk cum Typist and Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, candidates must undergo a Typing Skill Test. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to type at a speed of 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a personal computer without the use of editing tools or spell check facilities. For Hindi typing, Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be available. Exemptions are provided for candidates with certain disabilities, such as blindness or cerebral palsy, who must upload a Typing Skill Test Exemption Certificate issued by a Competent Medical Board. The merit for these posts will be based on the 2nd Stage CBT scores, with TST being qualifying.
