Exam Pattern
Among all the posts in NHB Recruitment 2024, only the JMGS-I (Assistant Manager) position will have an exam. The online examination will consist of both Objective and Descriptive Tests. The Objective Test, worth 200 marks, will have a duration of 3 hours and will consist of 4 sections. Each section of the objective test will have separate timing. The exam will be conducted in both English and Hindi. The details of the online test structure are as follows:
JMGS-I (Assistant Manager):
Note:-
- Descriptive Test: Candidates will have to answer the Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. The Descriptive Test will commence immediately after the completion of the Objective Test. The Descriptive Test is of qualifying nature, and candidates must secure a minimum score to pass. Evaluation of the Descriptive Test paper is subject to the candidate attaining minimum marks in the Objective Test.
- Penalty for Wrong Answers: Each question in the Objective Tests will have five choices, with one correct answer. For every wrong answer, one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. There is no penalty for questions left blank.
Selection Process
(A). Selection Process for JMGS-I (Assistant Manager):
The selection process for JMGS-I (Assistant Manager) includes an online examination and an interview.
Phase I: Online Examination
- Consists of both Objective and Descriptive Tests.
- Objective Test:
- 200 marks
- 3 hours duration
- 4 sections with separate timing for each
- Minimum score required in each section and overall to qualify for the interview
- Descriptive Test:
- Qualifying nature (marks not counted for shortlisting)
- Minimum score required
- Evaluation subject to attaining minimum marks in Objective Test
- Candidates shortlisted for interview based on cut-offs decided by vacancies

Phase II: Interview

- Minimum aggregate cut-off marks decided by the Bank

(B). Selection Process for Chief Economist (On Deputation)
- Tenure:
- Initial period of 3 years, subject to annual performance review
- Extendable for 2 years based on performance
- Pay Scale:
- Option to draw salary, perquisites, and benefits of parent organization plus deputation allowance or pay applicable to TEG Scale – VII (GM) in NHB
- Age Limit:
- Maximum age: 55 years
- Minimum residual service of 5 years as of the last date of application

- Willing to serve anywhere in India

(C). Selection Process for Various Positions:
General Manager (Scale VII), Chief Economist (On Contract), Assistant General Manager (Scale V), Dy. Managers (Scale II), Senior Project Finance Officer (On Contract), Application Developer (On Contract), Protocol Officer (On Contract), and Project Finance Officer (On Contract)
- Selection Criteria: Based on shortlisting and Interview.
- Preliminary Screening: Applications will undergo preliminary screening by the Screening Committee if the number of eligible applicants is high. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Interview.
- For Deputy Managers (Scale II): In case of a large number of applications, an online examination may be conducted as a qualifying test. Candidates clearing the cut-off will proceed to the interview. Examination details will be notified separately.
- Selection Basis: Evaluated on educational qualifications, professional experience, and performance in the Interview.
- Minimum Marks: Candidates must secure minimum marks in the Interview and overall to be considered for final rank lists.
- Merit List: Prepared in descending order based on Interview scores. In case of tie (common marks), candidates will be ranked by age.
- Note: Meeting minimum educational and professional qualifications does not guarantee an Interview call. The Bank reserves the right to decide shortlisting criteria and the number of candidates called for Interview.
