Application Fee
To apply for this recruitment, candidates must pay a processing fee. All candidates, including those in exempted categories, will also be charged a service fee of Rs. 40/- plus taxes, totaling Rs. 47.2/- by the CSC. Exam Pattern
The written examination will be conducted at the selected centers on the date and time fixed by the BSF which will be communicated to all candidates through online admit cards. There will be one composite paper of two hours duration. The question paper will be objective type with multiple choice questions on an OMR-based answer sheet and shall consist of the following subjects:
Note:
- The question paper will be printed bilingually, i.e., in Hindi and English.
- The minimum qualifying marks in the Written Examination are 35% for Unreserved, EWS, and OBC categories, and 33% for SC/ST categories.
- The number of candidates to be qualified in the Written Exam will be restricted to six (06) times the number of vacancies advertised or the number of candidates qualified in the Written Exam, whichever is less, to appear in the 2nd Phase (PST, PET, Documentation, Trade Test, and Medical Exam).
- There will be no re-evaluation of the answer sheet.
Selection Process
The examination will consist of Written Examination, Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, Trade Test, and Medical Examination. All these stages of the examination are mandatory. The examination will be conducted in two phases as follows:

First Phase:-
The written examination will be conducted at the selected Examination Centre, with the date, time, and venue fixed by BSF. Admit cards will be available online for download. Ensure you download and print your admit card before the exam date. The question paper will be printed in both Hindi and English. There will be one composite paper. Second Phase:-
Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for the second phase of the examination which will be conducted by the Selection Board at designated Water Wing Establishments. The second phase consists of various tests to assess the candidate’s overall suitability for the post. These include:
- Physical Standards Test (PST)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Documentation verification
- Trade Test (for some posts)
- Medical Examination (DME/RME)
a) Physical Standards Test (PST):
Those candidates called for the 2nd Phase will undergo the Physical Standards Test (PST). The PST will be carried out by the Selection Board to assess the height, chest, and weight of the candidates according to the physical standards mentioned below:

b) Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
Those candidates who are found fit in the Physical Standards Test (PST) will undergo the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) as follows, which will be of qualifying nature:

- Ex-servicemen are exempted from PET but they still need to qualify the Physical Standards Test.
c) Documentation Verification:
During documentation verification, the Board will check the candidate’s original documents such as age proof, educational certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificate, etc. Candidates who fail to produce the required documents will be disqualified.
d) Trade Test (for Specific Posts):
- This test is applicable for certain posts only. It assesses the candidate’s knowledge and experience in the specific technical field related to the applied post.
- Constable (Crew) post will also have a swimming test.
e) Medical Examination:
- Candidates who qualify all the above tests will undergo a detailed medical examination by a medical officer.
- This examination is conducted to assess the candidate’s medical fitness for the post.
